American Idol is really disappointing tonight. Everyone sucks. i think i've seen one person get through tonight. Thought the lil' twin girls were gonna make it...nope. They sucked. It was nice to see Balkie from "Perfect Strangers" make an appearance tonight.

Everyone at work is picking on my "fro" today. I thought i'd see what happens if i towel dry my hair and don't put anything in it. A "fro" is what happens. Good to know if i'm trying to look like a mad scientist or maybe Napoleon Dynamite. Whoops.

Sorry for the lack of updates as of late...it's been a crazy combination of sickness and house-buying! haha. who would have thought that buying a house would eat up so much time, and we haven't even gotten to the crazy parts yet. here's whats been happening in the last couple o' weeks:

1. they accepted the offer we made for the house (i'd say the address, but you might show up...and i don't have enough nachos for everyone). We're moving in about 5 weeks. we're already glued to DIY and HGTV every night getting ideas for remodeling some of the rooms. The only major issue is the "1970's wood paneling" on a couple of the walls. yeah, that's gonna come down....fast. I've also commandeered the basement as my "guy room". i know the drumset is going down there (!), but not sure what else. probably a bar, entertainment area, studio, etc. as a happily married man, i won't put the stripper pole down there, i'll leave that to my freaky friends (matt, are you reading this????).

2. I'm debating whether or not to get implants to correct my eyesight. it's a new procedure, but looks good. I'm not sure yet. anybody ever had this done? email me at jeffhurley@993kissfm.com.

3. I''m LOVING the gym. it's been so fun getting back out and working out regularly again. I'm excited that i'm trimming up (165 pounds!). Hoping that i don't lose my motivation. ellie and i have different schedules and workouts, so we usually work out solo. i need to make some "elliptical buddies" so i 've got some peeps to "run" with. However, it would help if i wasn't blaring my iPod while i'm working out, it's kinda hard to talk to someone when Soundgarden's "Outshined" is blasting thru my headphones. haha.

3A. on a side note, is there a BETTER weight lifting song than OUTSHINED? great guitars, Matt Cameron on drums and Chris Cornell's voice peeling the paint on nearby walls. just great stuff. other killer workout songs? JUDITH by A Perfect Circle, STEP BACK by Shystie or BT's THE REVOLUTION. add to the list at jeffhurley@993kissfm.com. those are all good pump-up songs. I'm not a "meat-head" gym guy, but i do like to get pumped up a little when i lift. who doesn't? i wish i could work out at noon, because KARDIO KISS @ NOON sounds so good on the radio. I love that show. i always blare it in my office. i need to burn it to my iPod, except that's not legal. dammit. haha.

4. Is there something in the water? I kid you not...i know at least 6 people who are pregnant now! what the hell? c'mon people...they know what causes that! haha. I'm going to stock up on baby gifts, because i'll be needing a batch of them in about 6 months when everyone starts having these babies.

Ok, time to watch some HGTV. i need to figure out how to lay tile so i can redo the floor in my new kitchen. we're aiming for southwestern! wooohooo! My chili pepper cookie jar will look perfect! cant wait.

Well, we're on the road towards home ownership. It was fun tonight. After i finished working out at the gym, i decided to drive past the house that we're buying. I was excited to find out that it's 4 minutes from the gym to the new house. woowoo!

It was a little scary.... when i drove to the house, they've changed the sign out front. it doesn't say "FOR SALE" anymore, it says "UNDER CONTRACT". wow! i think this is actually gonna happen! Just six and half weeks til we close on it! Then i'll be calling all my friends and inviting them over for a "box carrying" party.

Since it's not far from Taco bell, i think i'll pay them in burritos and beer. mmmmm.

We did it! the house is ours! wu-hahhahha! (evil laugh sorry). That's gotta be a record. we went from our first meeting to finding a house in less than 10 days. wow.

Steelers are in the Super Bowl!

Well, what an interesting sunday. let's run thru the highlights:

1. steelers win! they're going to the superbowl! The last time this happened, i was a sophomore in college, drinking cheap beer and singing Hootie and the Blowfish songs. Now it's ten years later, i've moved on to good beer, and i shy away from "Hold My Hand".

2. Placed an offer on a house today. yes. a house. holycrap. i don't think i've ever spent this much money iin my entire life! ahhhh! this is insane. maybe we should just go out in the country and find a nice little cave with a good view.

All dressed up for the big "Triple A of Central PA" Winter party. Yes...plenty of speeches, awards and door prizes. It was lots of fun (especially once we found a few extra tickets for the bar)

Could someone please call the Holiday Inn and tell them to TAKE DOWN THE CHRISTMAS TREE IN THE BALLROOM! It's January! (look closely in the background, you can see the tree).

Just a thought....if someone's car broke down tonight...who was gonna answer the phone at AAA? Theyre all here at the party.

I've noticed that i've been REALLY bad about updating this blog and my myspace page. wonder why? i'm usually very big on anything thats online, but i've been slacking. hmmm. maybe it's the Bird Flu. regardless, i need to get back into this.

So here we go. We finally joined the gym! yeah, go us. LA Fitness, in case you care (you don't). i got hit on by my first gay guy at the gym. i'm very happy! i must not be THAT out of shape. woohoo! I'm already in love with the eliiptical machines, trying to get Ellie hooked on those.

There's 2 problems with the gym though:

1. They say that working out improves your immune system. so why is it that i got sick on the first week i was there???

2. The TV's need to move 5 feet closer. I have to wear my glasses for the next few weeks, so i need the tv's a tad closer to me.

I opened my email today, and had a batch o' junk mail. Here's the ACTUAL name of a product that they were trying to sell me..."wee-wee-grow". yes. wee-wee-grow. just say it, it SOUNDS wrong. wow. wouldn't it be easier to just buy a BMW or Hummer instead to compensate?

Matt and I received plaques from Interscope for the success of Eminem's CD. nice! My office is starting to look like a Planet Hollywood (without the overpriced food). Ellie wondered if i was bringing this plaque home, but i think it's staying in the office. I need big things like this to cover the nasty paint in my office. Eventually, my office will be nothing but posters and plaques.

Joined the gym over the weekend. yeah. 'bout time. i've gotta trim down so i can fit into my bikini this year. wooo. i figure i'll go a few times a week, just because i'm paying for it! never thought i'd get to the point in my life where i will pay good money to go run on a treadmill, but i'm here!

Ahhh... spent the afternoon watching the Steelers play. James stopped playing "cop" long enough to swing by for the game. Here we go steelers!

Also, we're moving into the realm of "home buying". yeah, this is pretty scary. The most expensive thing i've EVER bought was $17,000....now i'm looking at these houses that cost SOOOOO much more. ugh. maybe i should jsut get a trailer. then i could drive it south in the winter and have a beach house.
